Spiritual Center

Skiathos’ Parish Cultural Centre is located at the exact same location where Alexandros Moraitidis’ house used to be, in which he passed away with the name monk ‘Andronikos’.

The center’s prominence to the island can be characterized as ‘great’ and ‘multi-dimensional’: it hosts several national and religious events, lectures and the island’s children’s choir. Furthermore, it houses a local library and a branch of the School of Byzantine music and the Art of Chanting. On the inside, there is the folklore room called “Alexandros Moraitidis”, which includes various folklore exhibits plus many photographs of the island and the people’s everyday life in the past.
