On September 14th a WWII annual celebration takes place in the Old Port of Skiathos town, commemorating and honoring the lost crew of the Katsonis submarine.
The vessel was sunk by a German ship, causing 32 men to die, 19 to be captured, while 3 managed to swim to freedom.
Today, the Katsonis submarine lays in the depths of the Kastro bay area.
