Take a stroll behind the Old Port and discover one of Skiathos’ oldest and most charming neighborhoods named Plakes. Characteristically, the picturesque old houses with balconies seem to drip off their perch on the rocks into the sea. Get lost in the maze of its colorful backstreets, small white houses with red tiled roofs and flowering gardens until you happen upon one of its delightful little squares.One of them is Ai Giannakis where you will enjoy the stunning view of the old port and Bourtzi.

The ancient cobble-stoned alleys will finally lead you to its western most point, a serene, pine covered peninsula reaching into the crystalline, turquoise waters.

Going down to Plakes on the left you will see an image that has been captured in thousands of photos, a small beach and a tavern that touches the sea.This tavern was open in the 80’s and many call it the tavern of lovers.
