Strofilia lagoon is located in the south-west of the island Skiathos, right behind the beautiful “Koukounaries” beach. The beach is separated from the lagoon by a forest full of tall, pine trees.
The lake reaches the sea through a narrow canal and is considered to be an ecologically crucial wetland. The whole area is very often preferred by numerous groups of migratory birds, either as a shelter or even as a temporary rest stop, during their long traveling. The place has been described by many visitors as a favorite summer destination, since it combines a leisurely stroll in the lagoon’s natural environment, with a fresh swim in its famous waters.
